Measuring laser

The exhibit was created for an international company manufacturing precision measuring devices. It demonstrates the function of a laser distance sensor that works on any kind of surface.
The design consists of a turning wheel that has numerous smooth and rough patches of surface attached to it, such as wood, smooth metal, rusty metal, sandpaper, glass and others. The distance sensor is always aimed at precisely the same point and displays the exact distance, no matter the surface.
Visitors can control the wheel with an iPhone or iPad and select a specific surface to measure on.
